Cameron Irvine

Cameron Irvine joins the Revolution after starting his professional journalism career at age 16 as a sports writer, where he produced content for 10 years. Holding Sports Editor positions in college and most notably his previous job – the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung – Irvine is an award-winning writer and columnist.

Cameron moved into the Metroplex in July, and since has also found footing with Texas Wesleyan University serving as the play-by-play commentator for volleyball and women’s basketball, serves as color analyst for men’s basketball, produces in-game highlights and is introducing to the department motion graphics for broadcast and promotions.

Irvine also owns the Simulation Football League, starting the AI vs. AI video game strategy league in 2013 – the subject of the documentary “A New Frontier”, produced by an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker from Florida. The SFL allows anyone to join a team of coaches, owners, scouts and players – from all over the world – and work their way up the pro football latter, all while getting to watch their career unfold as if they are watching a NFL game. For the SFL, he oversees day-to-day operations; has done over 300 play-by-play live, online-streamed broadcasts; produces all still and motion graphics for the league; manages, designs and edits the website and its content and has grown the league to hundreds of followers and a profitable venture in just three and a half years.

Cameron lives in Denton, with his girlfriend Alexis, who is getting her doctorate in music performance.
